Satanic Teachers Rights in Public School/College
Last updated: 2/9/2026

If you are a Satanic teacher in a public school/college, you must know your rights in order to fight potential discrimination and/or confusion on what you are allowed or not allowed to do. REMEMBER: Always check multiple sources to confirm your legal rights as a teacher in your state.
- You can wear Satanic clothing, jewelry, and pins/buttons with Satanic symbols, especially if other students can wear their religious clothing.
- You can freely discuss Satanism with other teachers/staff if they wish to discuss it with you.
- You CANNOT promote Satanism over another religion to students.
- You can take time out of your workday to engage in a small, private ritual before/after class.
- You can refuse to stand or speak the Pledge of Allegiance or the National Anthem. If you want to, you can refuse to speak the "under god" part.
- You can become a sponsor/advisor for a student-led Satanic club. Check this page for current/upcoming Satanic College Clubs you can support: https://thesataniccircle.org/college-clubs
- You can bring outside speakers to discuss Satanism, or bring in multiple speakers in a debate format to present differing views.
- You can celebrate Satanic holidays, as long as the secular aspect of the holiday is also represented.
- You can teach evolution in your classroom, though in some states you may have to label it as "scientific speculation."
- You can study Satanic literature, as long as you include other religious literature as well, with all discussion remaining on-topic with the class.
- You can play Satanic music in your classroom via a holiday music playlist, as long as secular music is also played.
- You can display Satanic holiday material, as long as secular symbols are also presented.
- Pay attention to school board elections and meeting dates, in order to prevent hateful organizations from infiltrating your school.
If you face any discrimination for your religion by students and/or staff, then you should report it to the Freedom From Religion Foundation or your union immediately. If you allow bigotry to go unreported, you risk the bigotry becoming more common and more dangerous. Report violations here: https://ffrf.org/legal/report-church-state/
