Fully understand the cause you are protesting for. Make sure you have a list of reasonable demands and a well-defined statement on your cause.

Your protest must be based on principle and not identity politics.

Keep focus on your issue and avoid irrelevent ideas that conflict with your main message.
5.
Support issues and principles, not an entire parties' organization or person.
6.
Never let narratives prevail over facts.
7.
Restrict your movement to those who support your cause.
8.
Never join movements that push for the restricted freedom of others.
9.
Never engage in or promote violence.
