ARE MINORS ALLOWED TO IDENTIFY AS SATANISTS?

Yes, minors at any age can identify as Satanists if they choose to. While we understand children are too young to realize the consequences of their actions of joining a religion, The Satanic Circle does not force members to remain and allows members to leave at any time. We also forbid shaming or punishing children for refusing to get involved with the religion.

I AM A MINOR, SHOULD I TELL PEOPLE?

Depends. If you believe you are in an accepting family or friend group, you can come out as a Satanist to them, or just one of them. Satanists are highly discriminated against and shamed in society. As a Satanist, your safety and well-being should be your main priority. Though when you decide to come out to those you trust, expect to understand your religion to explain things, or admit you are still studying it.

WHAT RITUALS CAN MINORS PARTICIPATE IN?

Anything that does not involve nudity or sexual contexts, as minors should not be participating in said activity around adults.

SHOULD I PUT MY CHILD IN PRIVATE EDUCATION?

Depends. We encourage Satanist parents to raise their children in diverse groups, that way if they decide to leave Satanism, they never feel like they have lost their community. Private education is completely understandable, as long as the reason is not to avoid specific religions or groups of people.

WHY DO YOU CRITICIZE OTHER RELIGIONS FOR INVOLVING KIDS, WHILE DOING SO YOURSELF?

The key difference is how each religion operates. Religions like Christianity often raise children in closed environments, surrounded mostly with other believers. Children are typically required to attend weekly worship, and are often entered into religious contracts, such as baptism, before they are old enough to understand the consequences.

Satanism is very different. Children are never forced to participate, and shunning or mandatory rituals are banned. Instead, Satanism encourages parents to raise their children in diverse social environments, ensuring that if a child chooses to leave Satanism, they won’t lose their sense of belonging or support. And while we have rituals of our own, such as unbaptism rituals, none of them are binding and are just activities to empower us for a certain amount of time.

Satanism promotes the pursuit of knowledge, autonomy, and consent. Individuals are free to join or leave without fear of punishment, isolation, or spiritual threats. In contrast, Christianity often frames conversion as "being saved," which can make leaving emotionally or socially difficult, especially for children. This can create an environment where questioning the faith becomes stressful or even traumatic.
Those are the differences between indoctrination and involving children in your religion.
